 ABOUT   ZACH

Hello, my name is Zach White, and I am asking for your vote for Morgan County Treasurer.

Bio

For the past three years, I have served as the Deputy Treasurer for Morgan County. I have worked with and learned from Bonnie B. Thomson, the person Morgan County voters have trusted as their Treasurer for the past 26 years.

Bonnie endorses me.

Bonnie trusts me to run the office when she is not in the office. In addition to my on-the-job experience, I will soon complete my degree in Forensic Accounting. I am the top accounting student at the college, and I serve as the captain of the accounting team.

As a graduate of Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah, and, as a native son of this beautiful state,

I enjoy everything outdoors. My wife, McKinlee Breshears, grew up here in Morgan County. We like to camp, fish, swim, and attend Utah Jazz games. I also love my job. I am fortunate enough to really look forward to coming to work.

I love Morgan County and cannot think of a better place to raise my family. We chose to make Morgan County our forever home. It is an honor working and serving Morgan County.

FINANCES

I have been interested in finances since childhood. As a boy, I was always thinking of ways to raise money to help my parents, to make enough money to go on a trip and to figure out how long I could survive on a set amount of funds. I always loved trying to stretch every dollar I had.

I love working with numbers because they make sense; there is typically only one right answer. I love solving problems, and Forensic Accounting allows me to find solutions to problems while also protecting the people I serve from fraud.

I chose Forensic Accounting because it combines accounting and investigative techniques to discover financial crimes. Forensic accountants often explain financial crimes to the courts and help establish damages from insurance claims. It may sound a little silly, but I got interested in Forensic Accounting because my family enjoys watching murder mystery and crime TV shows together.

We all try to figure out who the "bad guys" are, how they committed their crimes, and what the "good guys" need to do to catch them. I've always been good at figuring those things out before anyone else in my family does!

My education in Forensic Accounting will be of great help to me as County Treasurer. It has already served me well.

A quick story: I have used my skills to track down many missing checks. We recently had a situation where one of our checks was stolen and washed and the name on the check changed. I was the only one to pick up on the scam and find the person who did it. I had the name, address, photo and bank account information within 24 hours. We retrieved the money and that person is now in prison.
